Since moving to west Michigan last year, I have been completely awestruck by how beautiful it is! Not only is it lush and green, but the beaches are to die for. Seriously. Lake Michigan is an absolute dream!

That being said, working with Claire & Ben was an absolute dream as well! Ben started working with my husband a few months ago, and Claire and I became fast friends. When they wanted to take some beach photos, I had to say yes!

The weather was beautiful - warm but not too warm - and the beach, while busy, was quiet and serene as beachgoers waited for the sunset. We had an entire stretch of beach all to ourselves, which led to wonderfully intimate photos with some dreamy sunset light. I have been obsessed with golden backlight since the moment I picked up a camera, so I couldn't have asked for a better sunset. We had so much fun frolicking through the sand (it made weird squeaking noises when we walked on it!) and wading through the chilly Lake Michigan water. If every session could be like this one, I would die happy!
